At the Nest, we place great value on the views of our parents and carers. Working in partnership with families is at the heart of everything we do, and your feedback plays a vital role in helping us to continually improve our provision.
During the Spring Term, we invited parents and carers to share their thoughts and experiences through our survey. The feedback we received has been incredibly valuable and has enabled us to reflect on our practice, celebrate what is working well and identify areas for further development.
You Said, We Did
In response to your feedback, we have created a “You Said, We Did” statement to clearly show how your views have directly influenced improvements within the Nest. This demonstrates our commitment to:
Celebrating Our Community
We are also proud to share some of the wonderful comments from our families, which reflect the caring, nurturing and inclusive environment we strive to provide every day.
Your kind words highlight the strong relationships we build and the positive experiences children have as they learn, grow and thrive at the Nest.
Working Together
We are committed to maintaining open and honest communication with our families and will continue to seek your views regularly. By working together, we can ensure that every child receives the very best start to their learning journey.

"Sir James Knott Memorial Nursery School is a welcoming place to learn. Parents and carers value this school. It is a caring and safe place where staff commit to children's learning and well-being. All staff focus on helping every child to flourish and achieve well.
Children settle into school quickly because they are well supported by adults. They enjoy spending time in the exciting outdoor area, where they make potions with eucalyptus leaves and climb in their boat and sing. They make tea together and explore new things. Each activity that teachers set up for children has a reason for being there.
Children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) have their needs met well. With additional teaching support, they access the same learning opportunities as their friends. Parents praise how much staff keep in touch with them and involve them in everything they do for their children".
At Sir James Knott Nursery School and the Nest, we are committed to continual improvement to ensure every child receives the highest quality early education and care.
Our School Development Plan sets out the key priorities that guide our work each year. Governors bring a wide range of skills, experience and perspectives, including education, finance, safeguarding and community engagement. This enables them to ask informed questions, offer constructive challenge and support continuous improvement across both the Nursery School and The Nest.
Safeguarding is a key priority for the governing body. Governors ensure that robust policies, procedures and safer recruitment practices are in place and that the school meets all statutory requirements to keep children safe.
