The Governing Body is made up of staff, parents, local business representatives, community members and the Headteacher. They are committed to taking an active role in school life in order to support and challenge the school to ensure they provide a high quality education to the children within their education and care. The Governors have a general responsibility for managing the school effectively.
Governors meet on many occasions throughout the school year for their full Governing Body meetings, sub-Committee meetings and to carry out Link Governor visits. They strategically support the school on deciding the school's curriculum, to help with appointment of staff, to assist in settings standards of learners expectations, to oversee the school budget and to support the Headteacher and staff.
Governors hold an important role and their identity should be known to their school and the wider community in the interest of transparency.
