Home learning summer term 1- week 1

We have produced some home learning challenges linked to our summer project of How does your garden grow? To kick start our challenges we have a focus for the upcoming week on What grows in the garden? We have covered all 7 areas of learning within the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and have provided three levels of challenge. Please feel free to pick the most appropriate for your child. We would love for you to upload photos of the home learning to your seesaw account.

Active mile at home- resources

The Daily Mile Celebration day was due to take place on Thursday so instead of a day, we are promoting a week of activity around the theme, "Active Mile @ Home". We would like to get as many young people to engage in some physical activity to keep up those 60 active minutes! We will be awarding certificates to the children that take part.

Please find below the documents to support you, it includes some general guidance with ideas on how to complete the challenge including an "Active Mile" bingo sheet and pupil log. We have included a pupil log which could be used throughout the week to track progress and engage with pupils at home. We would also encourage families to share what they are doing virtually with their teachers through seesaw and Friends of Sir James Knott Facebook page.

We are encouraging the week of activity so that children DO NOT go out of their homes and complete their active mile on one specific day/time across North Tyneside but instead complete it across the week/ each day at home, close to home or at school.

Keep well and stay safe!

At Sir James Knott we follow the program Read Write Inc. On their website, in the information for parents sections there is also a lesson filmed every morning. We hope this information help, if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask via Seesaw.

We also have shared some information about preparing your child for more formal learning also.
